This provides a wonderful lightweight Vari ND solution, with another tray left for an optical flat, or diffusion. The Kit B is also a great option for use with the Misfit Atom Pola + matte box, which has room for two 4x5.65 filters and a single 138mm Rotating filter. When the 4x5.65 Linear Pol MC is removed, you have a high efficiency anti-reflective coated Circular Polarizer which you can rotate using the built in thumb wheel of the ONE tray, in addition to using a diffusion or ND filter in the tray. This provides a virtually color shift-free 2-8 stop variable ND effect. The Revar Cine Variable ND Kit B is a standard mounted 138mm Circular Pola+ which goes in the ONE tray’s 138mm holder and the 4x5.65 Linear Pol MC that goes in the rear section of the ONE tray. The disadvantage to this solution over a standard Rota Pola or 2-stage variable ND Kit A solution is ease of transition from variable ND to Rota Pola and limited compatibility of the ONE tray with other brand matte boxes. The advantage of the ONE tray is the ability to get the 4x5.65 Linear Pol MC closer to the 138mm polarizer if you are using a variable ND solution. The ONE tray can also be used with diopters up to a +2, and when using diopters up to +3/4 strength, it also still allows a standard 4x5.65 filter to be used, like diffusion or ND. This enables the placement of a standard 138mm polarizer with the option to add a 4x5.65 Linear Pol MC in the rear for variable ND effect. The ONE tray combines a standard mounted 138mm Polarizer slot with a 4x5.65 filter holder in the rear. It is now compatible with Arri R2 matte box standards, and therefore not compatible with their VIV series. The ONE tray takes up two stages in your Misfit Kick matte box. The new Bright Tangerine ONE tray is an exceptional leap forward in tray design. You can use the Kit A on almost any matte box you rent or own as well as renting to other shooters that may not have a Bright Tangerine matte box. The Revar Cine Variable ND Kit A is a good alternative to the ONE tray as it has the option to use it in other brand 2-stage matte boxes such as Arri’s LMB series. This makes for a versatile quick transition. This set up provides on-set flexibility to quickly go from variable ND to Rota Pola by simply removing the Linear Pol MC.
We also offer the 2-Stage Variable ND Kit A which provides 2-8 stops of variable ND by combining the Rota-Tray filter with a standard 4x5.65 Linear Pol MC in the second tray.
